A few statistics
We launched this website in December 2021, and essentially five full years have passed since then. Before, during, and after the World Reunion in July 2024, it became the most important tool for bringing our newly formed community together, along with the monthly Newsletter.
Many people have contributed to enriching its content with family stories and memories, for which we are grateful, as these have helped shed light on the history of the Jewish community in Győr and, at the same time, created a lasting online memorial for the families concerned.
We have also published numerous articles on the lives and works of prominent figures of Jewish descent, including artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, writers, and others.
It is an honour and a great pleasure for us that, beyond serving individual visitors, our website has quickly become a source for expanding the database of the Balatonfüred and Győr Jewish Excellence e-exhibitions to showcase the life stories of outstanding figures from Győr.
Similarly, through the materials published on our website and our network, we were able to contribute to the work of the curators of the new exhibition on Jewish local history, which opened in Győr at the end of March 2026 and was curated by the Holocaust Memorial Centre in Budapest.
The website is bilingual: Hungarian and English.
Here are some interesting statistics about the website’s five years of operation:
Views – Visitors
- Our website has received nearly 70,000 (exactly 69,496) page views over the past 5 years
- The number of visitors has been nearly 33,000 (32,972)
What do we look at most, and when?
- We have published a total of 250 post items; the website currently has fifty permanent pages in Hungarian and the same number in English
- Of the seven days of the week, Tuesday sees the highest number of page views
- The highest relative number of website views occurred on July 5, 2024, the second day of the 80th Anniversary World Reunion we organized, reaching 630 views

Where do visitors come from?
Over the past three years (2022-2025), the majority of views originated from Hungary (57%). This was followed by the United States (13%) and Israel (4%). There was also interest from Switzerland, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Most of our visitors find us through our monthly Newsletter and internet search engines (the latter accounting for 32%). The proportion of Facebook users is also significant; we have our own Facebook group. To a lesser extent, visitors come from among Gmail, ChatGPT, and LinkedIn users, as well as from the online platforms of Szombat (Jewish Political and Cultural Journal) and Győri Szalon (Cultural Magazine of Győr).
WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN OUR WEBSITE SHOWCASING THE JEWISH ROOTS IN GYŐR IN THE FUTURE. JOIN US AS A READER AND ACTIVE CONTRIBUTOR! WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND SUBMISSIONS!
