Who are we?

We are all volunteers, all second-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors from or connected to Győr, who back in autumn 2021 decided to organise a world reunion to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the deportations. This was the start.

Our foundation, the Jewish Roots in Győr Public Charity Foundation, was registered by the competent Metropolitan Court in March 2022. Thus, our civil initiative became an independent legal entity. Memebers of the Board of Trustees: Olga Spitzer, Miklós Szedő and Péter Krausz (Chair of the Board of Trustees).

Having staged the successful and very well attended Jewish Roots in Győr World Reunion in Győr, on 4-7 July 2024, we are now in the process of elaborating new projects to fight social discrimination, exclusion and anti-semitism to be implemented among secondary school and university students.

Members of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation are Olga Spitzer , Miklós Szedő, Péter Krausz (Chair)
