Taking action against anti-Semitism and all types of exclusion
High-schools
We have officially launched our sensitisation project and student contest“Exclusion – from anti-Semitism to bullying in schools, examples of enemy-making” among high-schools in Győr and its surroundings.
Read the announcement of the programme for secondary school students here (in Hungarian only):
In March 2025, this project’s sensitizing introductory programme has been conlcuded, whereby classes from each of the eight participating secondary schools in Győr and the surrounding area visited Jewish memorial sites with the help of their teachers, viewed the “Jewish Excellences Győr Exhibition“, participated in discussions on the subject and watched films (e.g. ‘The Wave’, German movie, 2008). Afterwards, invited sociologists conducted focus group interviews on Judaism and anti-Semitism, held an informal discussion on bullying in schools, and finally delivered a lecture on social exclusion, with a special focus on the Holocaust and Judaism.
So far, we have raised awareness among students and their circle (schoolmates, families, friends) of a highly topical and incredibly sensitive issue that can be at the root of conflict in many communities, today as in the past. This is the presence of social exclusion, in our case anti-Semitism, at both micro and macro levels. Our experts have highlighted the causes of these negative phenomena, the need and possibilities for action to combat them, and the serious, often tragic consequences of failing to tackle them. One teacher was astonished to learn that a number of her 15-16 year old students had never heard of the Holocaust before the project implementation.
The high-schools’ programme will conclude in the autumn 2025 with a student contest.

Győr University
On September 12, 2025, with the participation of students majoring in social pedagogy and sociology at the Széchenyi István University in Győr and with the support of our foundation, an optional course on the theme of “Judaism – Acceptance – Exclusion” was launched.
Guest lecturers invited by the foundation, Dr. Richárd Papp, associate professor (ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences), and Dr. Anikó Sükösd, assistant professor (KRE Faculty of Economics, Health and Social Sciences), explore and interpret the issue of anti-Semitism and other forms of exclusion in a series of interactive lectures and workshops.
The guest lecturers and the academic staff of the University of Győr consider it important, among other things, that students conduct independent research to find answers to the question of what significance the memory of the Holocaust has today among representatives of different generations in their place of residence, Győr, or in other communities.

Our Foundation is closely cooperating with the participating secondary schools and the University of Győr in the preparation and implementation of the programme, with the participation of Anikó Sükösd (sociologist, social researcher, university lecturer, KRE/ELTE) and Richárd Papp (cultural anthropologist, ELTE), who belong to the research circle of Professor György Csepeli, sociologist, and the staff of the educational institutions concerned.
Readers will be kept informed about the progress of the two projects.
We believe that positive change on these issues can best be achieved among the younger generation.
